Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Location: Austin, Texas A highly respected, relationship-driven commercial general contractor is expanding its Austin operation and looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects for some of the world’s most recognizable technology and corporate clients. This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional who wants more than a narrowly defined project-management role. Senior Project Managers here take genuine ownership of their work, beginning with preconstruction and continuing through procurement, financial management, construction, client turnover, and long-term relationship development. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead projects from preconstruction and estimating through construction, closeout, and final turnover Take full ownership of project financials, including budgets, forecasts, commitments, change management, pay applications, and cost reporting Partner with preconstruction teams on constructability, scope development, value engineering, scheduling, procurement, and long-lead equipment Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and building-management teams Manage all project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and owner reporting Coordinate closely with the Superintendent to manage schedule, logistics, quality, safety, and subcontractor performance Lead owner, architect, and contractor meetings while providing clear reporting on schedule, cost, risk, and project progress Manage complex MEP coordination, equipment procurement, utility requirements, commissioning, and turnover activities Support and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project administrators Identify potential problems early and develop practical solutions before they affect cost or schedule Participate in business development, client presentations, project pursuits, and ongoing account management Build the type of client relationships that lead to long-term partnerships and repeat work What We're Looking For 10+ years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor Proven success as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager Experience managing large, complex, or fast-paced commercial projects A strong background in corporate interiors, technology campuses, advanced manufacturing, life science, laboratories, mission-critical facilities, or technically complex ground-up construction Complete understanding of project financial management, forecasting, buyout, contracts, change orders, pay applications, and risk management Experience collaborating with field leadership on scheduling, constructability, logistics, and subcontractor coordination Working knowledge of major mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and building-control systems Ability to communicate confidently with sophisticated clients, executives, architects, engineers, and trade partners Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop less-experienced project team members An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to operate effectively with limited oversight A relationship-driven approach focused on delivering exceptional service and earning repeat business Why This Opportunity Stands Out Join an established Austin operation during a significant period of growth Lead sophisticated projects for major technology and corporate clients Work directly with local executive and ownership-level leadership Take complete ownership of projects instead of managing one limited portion Operate within focused teams where decisions are made quickly Participate in preconstruction, operations, client development, and team growth Build a long-term path toward Project Executive and broader operational leadership Join a company known for high standards, strong client relationships, and repeat business If you are a proven commercial construction leader who wants greater ownership, stronger client exposure, and the opportunity to help shape a growing Austin operation, this is an opportunity worth exploring. #J-18808-Ljbffr
