Requirements

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT) or R.T. (R)
• Radiologic Tech (RT) license in the state of practice: Required
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in some states
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in some states
• Venipuncture certification: Required in some states
• At least two years of recent experience in the field: Required

Responsibilities

• Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnosis.
• Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients of various ages.
• Maintains accurate records, files, and billing information.
• Ensures the integrity of patient medical images while adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
