Data & Power BI Analytics Specialist

Salary: $100,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• Demonstrated background leading performance measurement and recurring reporting
• Experience working in a Microsoft 365 and cloud-data environment, including SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SQL-based repositories, and Power BI or similar platforms
• Proven ability to define and document a metrics purpose, calculation elements, inclusion and exclusion criteria, baseline and follow-up periods, reporting cadence, data source, source-of-truth hierarchy, attribution, deduplication, and missing-data rules
• Practical proficiency with SQL or another reproducible query approach, along with relational or analytical data models used for longitudinal reporting
• Ability to calculate and verify counts, percentages, rates, averages, changes over time, milestone achievement, and operational trends
• Experience obtaining, mapping, or validating data from source classes relevant to assigned metrics, such as EHRs, health information exchange data, encounter files, surveys, provider rosters, training records, and financial reporting inputs
• Experience designing or running ETL or ELT workflows, secure file transfers, APIs, scheduled data pipelines, error handling, and source-to-target reconciliation
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards and recurring reporting packages that show numerator, denominator, baseline, target, current performance, trends, geography, site, data-quality status, and explanatory narrative
• Demonstrated data-quality discipline, including duplicate detection, missing-field review, invalid-date testing, event-sequence checks, referential integrity, reconciliation, exception handling, correction, and resubmission
• Ability to maintain data lineage, calculation versioning, source documentation, submission logs, review evidence, and an audit-ready record of changes and approvals
• Working knowledge of privacy and security obligations for sensitive health information, including HIPAA, business associate responsibilities where applicable, secure transmission, breach-notification coordination, and least-privilege access
• Strong technical writing and editing skills to prepare monthly and quarterly narratives, methodology documentation, data dictionaries, validation summaries, dashboard notes, and responses to stakeholder questions
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines, state-defined ad hoc response timelines, corrective-action tasks, dependencies, and version-controlled approvals without releasing unvalidated data
• Ability to explain changes in numerator, denominator, rates, service mix, data availability, and source lag in plain language without overstating causation or program impact
• Bachelors degree required
• Five years of relevant experience required
• Strong direct, hands-on proficiency with SQL
• Direct, hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
• Direct, hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data validation, reconciliation, PivotTables, and Power Query
• Direct, hands-on proficiency with Azure SQL, SQL Server, Fabric Warehouse, or an equivalent relational reporting database
• Direct, hands-on proficiency with SharePoint Online
• Direct, hands-on experience with at least one structured collection platform such as Power Apps/Dataverse, REDCap, an EHR, or a case-management system
• Direct, hands-on experience with at least one integration method such as Fabric Data Factory, Azure Data Factory, Mirth Connect, API integration, or SFTP
• Experience with version-controlled metric specifications, data dictionaries, validation logs, and recurring reporting packages

• Turn complex data sets into clear, actionable dashboards and reports
• Lead performance measurement and recurring reporting efforts
• Define, document, and validate metric logic and reporting methodology
• Build and sustain dashboards and scheduled reporting packages
• Design or operate ETL and ELT processes, file transfers, APIs, and data pipelines
• Reconcile source and target data and resolve errors during data processing
• Perform data-quality checks, investigate exceptions, and manage corrections and resubmissions
• Maintain data lineage, calculation versions, submission logs, and audit-ready documentation
• Prepare monthly and quarterly narratives, methodology write-ups, data dictionaries, validation summaries, and dashboard annotations
• Respond to stakeholder questions and support recurring reporting deadlines and ad hoc requests
