Vehicle Test Technician

TPG is seeking motivated, dependable and safe Test Technicians to test vehicles and their systems for a research and development organization in Saline, MI. Successful candidates will test drive and evaluate pre-production test vehicles on a proving ground, conduct safety inspections, perform specialized test procedures and document findings on driver reports in a clear and concise manner. Get paid to drive test vehicles, experience new technology firsthand and give feedback to the development team! Position Responsibilities: Conduct and support testing and data acquisition activities at vehicle level. Develop and implement vehicle testing procedures. Install data acquisition per test requirements and support mechanical duties as needed. Evaluate test results and prepare routine test reports. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: 3 to 5 year's experience as a Test Technician. Background in Proving Grounds Vehicle Testing. Beneficial Skills and Experience: Experience in Vehicle Dynamics, Chassis Controls, Active Safety and Vehicle Durability. Data Acquisition background with various instruments and CAN with strong software skills and Excel. Mechanical background to support component installation. Advanced Driver skills with limit handling. ASE Certification. Automotive Proving Ground Experience. Ground Truthing equipment experience: examples OXTS, Racelogic, ABP. Robotics experience: examples Anthony Best Dynamics, Humanetics. Education/Training/Certifications: High School Diploma / Associates Degree. Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment. Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits). Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged. Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality. Must be able to operate as an effective team member. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be willing and available to work 8.0 hours per day, 5 days per week, plus other hours per day or week as are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
