Embassy Suites - Gtown Embassy Suites Georgetown 1250 22nd St NW Washington, DC 20037, USA The general purpose of the Chief Engineer is managing the Hotel Engineering Department, including all related activities and hiring and maintaining an effective work force appropriate for an upscale Hotel. The Chief Engineer establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, systems, guestrooms, and public areas, participates in effective safety programs, coordinates and implements capital improvement projects, and manages the department budget. The role is responsible for all aspects of the Engineering Department, including maintaining facilities, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and systems at the highest quality standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent / HVAC licensure / Universal CFC Certification English Speaking is Pre-Intermediate At least 3 years in Engineering/Facilities maintenance field Leadership Personality Job Responsibilities Provide support to Area Director of Engineer Manage adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools and material for the department Enforce Hotel Company policies and procedures Respond to emergency situations, such as fire alarms and other life‑safety situations and notify proper authorities. Maintain the Hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain a professional image at all times. Perform repairs in plumbing, heating, HVAC, and guest room maintenance. Communicate effectively with all departments regarding engineering tasks. Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team. Understand and operate certain central plant equipment. Lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks as required. Handle all mechanical areas. Provide preventative maintenance on mechanical related heat pumps, motors, and fans. Respond promptly and efficiently to guest engineering issues, empowering staff to maintain high service standards.
