What You'll Do

As a Child Care Teacher at Mountain Valley ELC, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Child Supervision & Safety

• Actively supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios.
• Create a clean, welcoming, and secure classroom environment.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or illnesses while following health and safety procedures.

Curriculum & Learning

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences.
• Encourage exploration, play, and creativity through activities like art, literacy, sensory play, outdoor play, music, and movement.
• Support each child’s unique developmental needs and document their progress.

Classroom Management

• Establish consistent routines and positive expectations for behavior.
• Foster an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
• Keep learning materials and classroom spaces organized and engaging.

Family Communication

• Build trusting relationships with families by providing daily updates on their child’s activities and development.
• Address concerns professionally and maintain confidentiality.

Teamwork & Collaboration

• Work closely with fellow teachers and leadership to create a positive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom responsibilities, staff meetings, and center-wide events.
• Participate in required training and professional development.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete accurate documentation and follow Montana childcare licensing regulations.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and use center software for attendance and communication.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications:

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in childcare or early childhood education.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for working with young children.

Preferred

• Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move throughout the day.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Quick response capability during emergencies.
