Shift: M-F with every other weekend 11am-7:00pm Responsibilities Maintains excellent relationships with the residents, resident family members, guests, peers and management. Works with the Chef and Director of Dining Services in suggesting nutritious and top quality food for residents and guests. Implement and maintain new culinary and service programs in conjunction with the culinary team. Trains and maintain a high standard for dining room and other food service venues. Manage with a “can do” attitude adhering to our service vision of “Exceptional Care. World Class Hospitality” and to our Core Standards of C.A.R.E. (Courtesy, Attention to Detail, Responsiveness and Enthusiasm). Maintain visibility during meal times by seating and greeting residents, addresses any concerns, and ensures that their needs have been met. Respond to and resolve any resident or guest complaints regarding their experience in the dining room. Schedule and assign tasks to the servers, including assigning of tables and side and closing duties. Direct and monitor Servers, Baristas and Café Attendant, including uniform and personal appearance, customer service and proper food handling techniques. Train servers, Barista and Café Attendant on all operating procedures and menu education. Ensure floor charts and tables are set up correctly. Assist servers as needed by performing such tasks as pouring coffee and water. Assist department staff with processing invoices and inventories. Check menus for accuracy. Oversee the processing of guest meal charges in a timely manner. Assist with orientation and training of new Dining staff. Hire, terminate and coach all Servers, Baristas and Café Staff. Complete all HR paperwork for hiring, performance reviews and terminations. Supervise the processing of department payroll. Have knowledge of catering program and is backup for Lead Server and catering events and assist Dining Department in preparing and set-up of all special events. Supervise all activity in all Dining venues. Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures. Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, personal sanitation and hygiene. Attend all in-services as required. Attend culinary and dining service-related meetings. Perform pre meal before meal service. Conduct annual service reviews and in-services. Maintain ServSafe Certification. Responsible for alcohol ordering and inventory. Order soda products for café and barista. Meet with new residents to review dining procedures/menus within a month of move in. Other duties as assigned by the Department Director. Qualifications High school diploma required. College degree in Hospitality-related field is preferred. Two (2) to four (4) years of food service experience required. CCRC dining experience required. Resort and/or country club experience a plus. Strong leadership and communication skills a must. Multi point of service experience a plus to manage retail, event and dining room service. Excellent communication skills. Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
