On-call Paramedic I, Early Phase Clinical Trials - Daytona Beach, FL

Fortrea seeks an on-call paramedic for early-phase clinical trials at its Daytona Beach research unit. The role involves monitoring study participants' safety, providing medical care under physician oversight, managing adverse events, and performing clinical procedures across rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor study participants continuously for safety and well-being within clinical research unit
• Deliver basic and advanced medical care to participants in emergent and non-emergent situations
• Lead resuscitation and stabilization efforts for life-threatening participant situations
• Document and communicate adverse events to investigator; assess out-of-range values and initiate interventions
• Perform clinical procedures including blood collection, vital signs, ECGs, and medication administration per protocol

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational qualification
• 2+ years paramedic experience, preferred
• Current state paramedic license or certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Proficiency in airway management, IV establishment, subcutaneous injections
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and emergency situations
