Responsibilities Perform various clerical tasks and provide clinical support to the Nursing Staff in a polite and courteous manner. Assist patients and visitors with questions by referring them to the appropriate individual. Qualifications Minimum education: Associate’s Degree; coursework in medical terminology is desirable. Minimum experience: Six months in a healthcare setting; experience in Revenue Integrity and/or reconciling charges is preferred. Positive customer service focus demonstrated in past experience. Required certification: Certified or actively pursuing certification as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCA) to be completed within 12 months of hire. Physical Requirements Work is primarily sedentary with intermittent standing and walking. Physical movement such as reaching and bending is also required. Ability to lift 10 lbs. Working Conditions Environmental demands: Works in a clean, well‑lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. Physical demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion; evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Mental demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, prioritize tasks, possess critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility, multi‑task, and give detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary. Works inside office facilities, in an open reception area. Benefits and Compensation The range for the role is $25.79 - $26.57 hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
