Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Nurse position located in an acute care setting. This role involves providing patient care for adult medical and surgical patients with common diagnoses such as cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. The position requires competency in managing central lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and utilizing electronic health records.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, BLS certification through the American Heart Association, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and the requested time off documentation.
• Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience, travel experience on a Medical Surgical floor, and experience in a level I trauma center are preferred.
• Department: Adult Medical Specialty Unit with 56 beds, including private and semi-private rooms.
• Nursing Ratios: 1:4-5 during the day shift, 1:5-6 during the night shift.
• Duties: Assisting with vital signs, accuchecks, bladder scans, ADLs, and managing telemetry with Phillips monitors.
• Additional Information: Rotation to other acute care Medical Surgical areas such as nephrology, neuro, ortho, and oncology. Standard scrubs in any color, no visible tattoos or piercings except ears, and unit-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts. No float rotation designated explicitly but may include other acute care medical/surgical areas.
