Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse in the healthcare facility is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to less acute settings. The position involves managing post-procedural and cardiac patients, including those recovering from myocardial infarctions, cardiac catheterizations, and post-Cabg surgeries, within a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, at least 2 years of experience in a step-down or related unit setting, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin, with ability to interpret strip readings.
• Float: Float rotation may be required across adult inpatient units, including MedSurg Tele and PCU, with unit-specific orientation provided.
• Additional Information: Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. The position involves utilizing various equipment including CPAP/BiPAP at night, monitor interpretation skills, and collaborating seamlessly with nurse aides on the unit.
