About the Position

Job Title: Med/Surg RN Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 18:00 - 06:30 Experience: 3 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have Skills/Experience: Previous travel Med/Surg experience Telemetry experience Epic EMR experience Description: The unit has 27 to 30 beds with patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6. Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, vein light, Pyxis for medications, and Vocera communication devices. The electronic medical record system utilized is Epic. The types of patients on the unit primarily include those undergoing orthopedic and general surgeries, back surgeries, gastrointestinal issues, renal concerns, oncology patients, and general medical cases. The ideal candidate must possess independence but should be unafraid to ask questions. Candidates should be able to manage a fast-paced environment and demonstrate flexibility. Preferred experience includes general and orthopedic post-operative care, managing Heparin drips, and blood administration.
