Reporting to the Senior Dietitian Supervisor, the Dietitian provides integrative nutrition assessment, education, and support to outpatient cancer patients before, during, and after diagnosis and treatment. This role also supports IPU pancreatic patients experiencing complex dietary challenges by developing individualized nutrition care plans and providing ongoing follow-up for referred patients. Responsibilities include delivering general nutrition counseling, weight management support, and individualized consultations through telehealth and onsite visits, as well as facilitating group classes, support sessions, workshops, and webinars. The Dietitian serves as a key resource in communicating current nutrition recommendations and best practices to physicians and staff while collaborating with community organizations to support cancer patient education initiatives. \n

\n Salary Range: $44.59-58.82 Hourly\n

\n Qualifications \n

Required:\n

\n

\n
• Master's degree in Nutrition or Public Health.
\n
• Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
\n
• Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of oncology nutrition.
\n
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and expertise of the cancer experience and in current concepts of medical nutritional management practices in side effects of treatment and wellness approaches that will compliment and ameliorate or diminish side effects.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in individual and group nutritional counseling and education. Strong skills in assessing, designing, implementing and evaluating the nutritional and educational needs of participants.
\n
• Demonstrated skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, front office and department personnel, both orally and in writing.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain efficient client flow in daily schedule.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with physician(s) and nurses and follow through with all assignments.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to maintain medical charts and documentation.
\n
• Ability to travel to multiple UCLA Health locations and provide own means of transportation.

• 2+ years experience with oncology nutrition.
\n
• Have knowledge and experience with patients living with a Pancreatic cancer diagnosis preferred.
