Construction Inspector IV- Transportation

AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector IV to be based in Phoenix Arizona. This candidate will be responsible for training new employees and setting project deadlines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality performance specifications and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Performs daily field inspections and maintains comprehensive inspection records and documentation.
• Participates in punch lists testing and commissioning activities to ensure project completion standards are met.
• Tracks quality assurance progress and prepares detailed reports on inspection findings and compliance status.
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
• Identifies non-conformances and recommends corrective actions to ensure adherence to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with project managers engineers and subcontractors to communicate inspection results and resolve field issues.
• Trains and mentors junior inspection staff on inspection procedures safety protocols and quality standards specific to transportation projects.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal state and local transportation regulations and safety standards throughout the construction process.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• HS 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A valid drivers license is required along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
• US Citizenship is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• City of Phoenix work experience and familiarity with City of Phoenix standards and specifications.
• Pavement preservation and asphalt paving inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans specifications and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in documenting inspection findings and maintaining accurate field records.
• Traffic control inspection experience.
• Professional certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) or equivalent transportation inspection credentials.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with quality control testing methods and inspection software/technology platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports.
• Knowledge of federal state and local transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Prior experience training mentoring or supervising junior inspection staff.
