Midwest Deputy Finance Director

Position Summary The Midwest Deputy Finance Director assists the Midwest Finance Director in overseeing the major donor fundraising efforts in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The Deputy Finance Director works closely with their Finance Director in creating and implementing a region-specific finance plan and supporting the execution of principal and surrogate travel and fundraising events. The Deputy Finance Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with the top donors in their region. The Midwest Deputy Finance Director is based in Washington, DC and reports directly to the Midwest Finance Director at the Democratic National Committee. Responsibilities Raising major donor funds through call time, events, donor meetings, and finance trips. Identifying event hosts and supporting them through the execution of major donor fundraising events within the region. Actively raising toward finance events within the region and managing event trackers from inception to completion. Providing support for the execution of travel in the region including scheduling donor meetings for principals, creating and editing briefing memos, and preparing other materials as needed. Assisting the Regional Finance Director in maintaining donor relationships. Performing donor research to identify prospective major donors and raisers all while working to re-engage lapsed donors. Creating and managing a Regional Finance Committee to engage donors within the region. Creating and managing a finance email program to keep major donors informed and engaged. Providing support to the Regional Finance Director as needed. Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related field. 3-4 years of related work experience. Detail oriented and proficient in Excel. Working knowledge of NGP database. Experience working on campaign or political committee finance teams for 1-2 cycles preferred. Skills Strong work ethic. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take initiative and learn quickly. Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members. Passion for the Democratic Party. Travel The Midwest Deputy Finance Director position will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time. Salary The starting salary for the Midwest Deputy Finance Director position is $72,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
