Job Description/Summary

Forklift Operators for the yard report directly to the Yard Manager and are responsible for loading and unloading materials, both incoming and outgoing of the facility. They are responsible for maintaining the workflow in the yard by preparing orders for shipment, storing materials, assisting in taking inventory, and operating the machinery required to safely transport materials.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift, winches and other devices to load and unload materials

• Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments

• Assembling items for shipments

• Storing, stacking and palletizing items using a forklift

• Packing, checking and loading products accurately onto trailers, trucks and to and from designated areas

• Monitor and maintain inventory of incoming and outgoing items

• Follow inventory control instructions

• Reconfigure racking when needed

• Keep the yard clear and hazard-free

• Observe company rules and procedures for quality control and occupational health and safety

• All other duties as assigned
