Classification: Non-exempt, Hourly, Full-time/Part-timePosition Summary
The Copper Spike Café Attendant provides friendly and efficient service to guests, prepares and serves food and beverages, processes transactions accurately, and maintains a clean, organized café environment. This role supports a positive guest experience and upholds Verde Canyon Railroad’s standards for service, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Transactions
- Greet guests, take orders, and provide product recommendations.
- Process cash and credit card payments accurately using the POS system.
- Manage cash drawers, including daily counts and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with staff to accommodate special requests and preorders.
Food & Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve coffee, specialty drinks, and other beverages.
- Present food items according to established standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation and assembly of preordered or complimentary items.
Operations & Cleanliness
- Complete opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup and shutdown.
- Restock service areas and maintain organized workstations.
- Keep the café clean and sanitary, including tables, counters, floors, and equipment.
- Assist back-of-house operations and support overall team efficiency.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
- Adhere to workplace safety rules and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations and team needs
- High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old.
- One year of customer or food service experience preferred.
- Must pass drug screening and background check.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit and Alcohol Certification.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service.
- POS experience and cash-handling skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Positive attitude, strong communication, multitasking skills, and willingness to cross-train.
