RN, Part-Time

Pay Range: $32.69 - $47.34 per hour SCOPE Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age‑specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding status and medical history; collect and record nursing assessment and interventions. Review and report results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider. Provide teaching and other instructional material, as well as psychosocial support to patients and families, maintaining confidentiality. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction of a physician, and learn how to mix chemotherapy/immunotherapy. Administer all medications by correct dosage, amount, route, time, and technique. Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Restock the supply area as needed; follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and other potentially infectious materials. Maintain all disinfection protocols and keep equipment according to quality control standards. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, manage medication refill requests, and record information in the patient chart. Assist physician with exams and procedures; maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of exam rooms. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information. Facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team, coordinate services related to patient care, and assist patients in locating community resources. Perform other duties as assigned; assist and collaborate with clinical research. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants; provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed. Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing through ongoing educational opportunities. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred or required unless grandfathered. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Experience: 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
