Location All Saints – Ft. Job Summary The Multispecialty Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound services, including abdominal, Ob/Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts. The role includes reviewing the patient's clinical history, framing clinical questions, performing examinations, measuring key parameters, and ensuring high‑quality interpretation results. Essential Functions Of The Role Performs various specialty ultrasound procedures, making necessary measurements for accurate interpretation. Identifies and defines abnormalities, extending examination scope as needed and correlating with other diagnostic tests. Assists physicians in procedure and operating rooms with ultrasound studies to aid complex procedures and reduce risk. Prepares patients, obtains clinical history, explains the purpose of examinations, and answers patient questions. Adheres to policies, procedures, and workflows, including PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, modality worklist integrity, record management, and BioMed services. Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the ultrasound lab and equipment, reporting malfunctions. Serves as a resource for team members, physicians, and students regarding equipment and procedures. Collaborates with ultrasound team members to ensure quality processes, protocols, and unit accreditation activities. Implements protocols with evolving technology, ensuring system standards are met. Conducts equipment quality checks following manufacturer’s recommendations and troubleshoots equipment as required. Key Success Factors Familiar with approved clinical protocols for each ultrasound examination performed. Meets all qualifications for any two of these specialties: Ob/Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, or small parts; works at least 25% of the time in the second modality. Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic methods, instrumentation, and techniques. Knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology for each specialty. Knowledge of proper infection control and precautionary procedures. Knowledge of relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy. Effective oral and written communication with healthcare providers. Skilled in computer and medical equipment utilization. Able to train new team members and deliver quality training on new services and initiatives. Available to take call if required. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program Experience: 2 Years of Experience Certification / License / Registration Fetal Echocardiography (FE), Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK), Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Reg Diag Card Son‑Adult Echo (RDCS‑AE), Ped. Echocardiography (PE), Reg Diag Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Abdomen (AB), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Breast (BR), Reg Diag Med Sono‑OB/GYN (OB), RDMS‑Pediatric Sonography (PS), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) ARDMS in (AB) or (OB) or RVT (ARDMS): Must have 2 years of related Multispecialty Experience Must Have TWO Of The Following ARDMS – RDMS: AB, BR, OB/GYN, PS / ARDMS – RDCS: AE, FE, PE / ARDMS – RVT / ARDSM – RMSKS / ARRT – S, VS, BS.
