Responsibilities As an LVMT , you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality medical care and supporting our veterinarians and healthcare team by: Providing nursing care, patient assessments, and treatment administration Performing venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgical and dental procedures Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography in accordance with state regulations Obtaining diagnostic imaging, including radiographs Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians Monitoring hospitalized patients and communicating patient status updates to veterinarians Educating clients on preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and post-operative care Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment documentation Assisting with emergency and urgent care cases as needed Ensuring proper care, maintenance, and sterilization of medical equipment Mentoring Veterinary Assistants and supporting the development of less experienced team members Helping maintain a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused hospital culture Qualifications Current Tennessee Veterinary Technician license (LVMT) in good standing Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program Strong technical, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care skills Previous clinical experience in a veterinary hospital preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Compassion for animals and commitment to exceptional patient care Dependable attendance and strong professional work ethic Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support coworkers Leadership qualities and the ability to take initiative Interest in training, mentoring, and helping develop fellow team members Commitment to continuing education and professional development What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Benefits package competitive with larger corporate employers, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution/match Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) beginning at 90 days Paid holidays beginning at 90 days Retirement plan with employer match Employee pet discounts Supportive, locally owned practice where your voice matters Opportunities for professional development, continuing education, and leadership growth Exposure to a wide variety of medical, surgical, dental, and emergency cases Flexible scheduling Paid overtime opportunities available based on hospital needs Positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, respect, and exceptional patient care Join Our Team If you're seeking a rewarding career with a locally owned practice that values teamwork, professional growth, and exceptional patient care, Central Veterinary Hospital may be the perfect fit for you.
