Automotive Sales Consultant

Role Description The Automotive Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based at Don Aadsen Auto Group in Ronan, MT. This position is responsible for assisting customers through the entire vehicle sales process, from initial greeting and needs assessment to test drives, vehicle selection, and closing the sale. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram product lines, explaining features and benefits, preparing price quotes, and reviewing purchase or lease options. The consultant will manage follow-ups with prospective and existing customers, maintain accurate records in the dealership’s CRM system, and collaborate with finance and service departments to support a seamless customer experience. The role also involves keeping the showroom and lot presentable, participating in sales events, and consistently meeting individual and team sales goals. Qualifications Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships. Effective communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal communication, and professional written communication. Sales and negotiation abilities, with comfort presenting options, handling objections, and closing sales in a consultative manner. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CRM or dealership management systems, along with accurate data entry skills. Ability to learn and retain detailed product knowledge across multiple automotive brands and model lines. High level of reliability, integrity, and professionalism, with a commitment to a positive customer experience. Capacity to work on-site full-time, including evenings or weekends as needed, and to move around the lot and showroom safely. Previous automotive sales or retail sales experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
