Elementary Steam Educator

Findlay City Schools is seeking a dynamic and passionate Elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Educator to lead innovative, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity in young learners. This role is centered on cultivating an engaging classroom environment where students explore real-world problems, think critically, and develop confidence as problem-solvers.

The Elementary STEAM Educator serves as a facilitator of discovery, guiding students through interdisciplinary learning experiences that blend science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics in meaningful ways. Through project-based learning, design thinking, and inquiry-driven instruction, this educator empowers students to take intellectual risks, collaborate with peers, and embrace challenges with resilience.

This position also plays a key role in fostering a culture of innovation within the school community by partnering with classroom teachers to create cross-curricular connections and by providing opportunities for students to showcase their learning. The ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and a deep commitment to student-centered learning, helping to spark imagination and build foundational skills for future success.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement interdisciplinary STEAM lessons aligned with district and state standards
• Create interactive, project-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation
• Incorporate engineering challenges, coding, design thinking, and artistic expression into daily instruction
• Utilize instructional technology and digital tools to enhance student exploration and discovery
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs, abilities, and interests
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular connections and integrated learning opportunities
• Foster a growth mindset by encouraging creativity, perseverance, and responsible risk-taking
• Facilitate student exhibitions, showcases, and STEAM-related events to highlight student learning
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inquiry-driven classroom environment that supports all learners
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to ensure continuous growth and engagement

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Valid state teaching license appropriate for grade level
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

• STEAM/STEM endorsement or related certification
• Experience with design thinking, inquiry-based learning, and project-based instruction
• Familiarity with coding platforms, robotics, and educational technology tools
• Experience integrating arts into STEM instruction
• Prior experience in an elementary educational setting

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, and engage in hands-on instructional activities with students
• Ability to operate classroom technology and equipment
