Meat ManagerCompany: Jetro / Restaurant Depot Location: 3580 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705 Job Type: Full-time Sector: Management Compensation: $20.44 - $21.12Job SummaryThe Meat Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the meat department, including inventory management, product quality, merchandising, and team performance. This role ensures department operations align with company standards, maintain high levels of product quality and freshness, and support overall sales and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the meat department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentationMaintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practicesEnsure all meat products are handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standardsMonitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable itemsSupervise and manage department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and performance expectationsCoordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagementReview inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address areas of concernOversee receiving processes by ensuring incoming product is properly inspected for quality and accuracyMaintain overall department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulationsQualificationsPrevious experience in meat, grocery, retail, or warehouse operationsStrong understanding of inventory control, product handling, and stock managementKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsExperience leading and managing a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsBasic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience managing a meat or perishable departmentFamiliarity with food safety regulations and audit expectationsBackground in high-volume retail or wholesale environmentsWork Environment / ExpectationsPrimarily warehouse or retail environment with temperature-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and handling products for extended periods.
