Echo Ultrasound Tech / Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist

Join our team in Alexandria, LA. Use your expertise to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, prepare patients for echocardiogram procedures, and produce diagnostic-quality cardiac images for interpretation by the care team. The Echocardiogram Technician Registered functions under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular Services and participates in non-invasive cardiovascular procedures across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current national certification as one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI, or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RDMS/CCI) with at least two years of echo experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiovascular ultrasound and non-invasive procedures.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing transthoracic echocardiograms, Doppler measurements, color flow mapping, stress echocardiograms, and pediatric echo transmission.
• Ability to perform TEE probe high-level disinfection or coordinate appropriate reprocessing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Educational training in non-invasive cardiology, with basic and advanced arrhythmia training preferred.
• Experience using Merge or similar echo reporting systems and retrieving reports from Meditech.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0800-1630.
• Work schedule: Monday through Friday.
• Rotating weekend coverage every 5th week.
• On-call rotation: one week every 5th week to provide 24/7 echocardiography coverage.
• Average daily volume: approximately 6–8 echocardiograms per day.

As a health professional placed through our services, you will provide essential diagnostic imaging that directly informs patient care and treatment decisions. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining departmental infection control and documentation standards. Participation in continuing education is expected to maintain clinical competence.
