Analytics Engineer

Salary: $81,000 - 121,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI engineering, including management of production dbt workflows.
• Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, common table expressions, and query optimization.
• Practical expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, clustering, and cost-aware model design.
• Strong experience building modular data layers, macros, and automated tests with dbt Core or dbt Cloud.
• Proficiency in Python for workflow automation, pipeline scripting, and custom testing.
• Experience modeling datasets for modern BI platforms or collaborative notebook tools such as Hex.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
• Experience using LLM coding assistants in development workflows, with attention to data privacy and code reliability.
• Preferred: dbt Developer or Analytics Engineer certification; experience with Snowflake semantic models, Cortex Analyst, MetricFlow, or the dbt Semantic Layer; exposure to orchestration tools such as Dagster; knowledge of energy, power generation, commodities, or financial services; and familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks such as SOX, GDPR, or CCPA.

• Design, deploy, and maintain modular dbt models that transform replicated ERP data into clean, governed Snowflake schemas.
• Develop resilient semantic models to support self-service BI and natural-language queries using large language models.
• Build and scale dimensional data marts for financial tracking, power generation performance, and revenue variance analysis.
• Prepare data foundations and optimized queries for interactive Hex dashboards and executive reporting.
• Establish dbt tests, schema validations, and data quality frameworks to support reliable pipelines and regulatory compliance.
• Use AI coding assistants, including Claude Code, ChatGPT, and GitHub Copilot, to accelerate code scaffolding, SQL tuning, and documentation while upholding code review standards.
• Collaborate with data engineers, financial analysts, and trading teams to turn business metrics into production-ready analytical products.
