Data Specialist
The Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, student and district data and supporting the district systems that rely on that information. This position serves as the district-level specialist for Infinite Campus, the district's Student Information System (SIS), and supports enrollment, state reporting, digital learning resources, and other district data needs.
Qualifications Profile: Ability to pass a background check, valid driver's license or state issued ID.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain accurate student, enrollment, course, program, staff assignment, and other required information within the SIS.
- Coordinate required student and district data reporting and submissions to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).
- Coordinate student and teacher rostering between Infinite Campus, Clever, and district-approved digital learning resources.
- Complete annual setup and make updates necessary for the beginning and throughout the year as enrollment, courses, and staff assignments change.
- Review data regularly to identify and resolve missing, inaccurate, or inconsistent information.
- Maintain an organized calendar of state reporting requirements and deadlines, monitoring KSDE communications to stay current on changes to reporting requirements and systems.
- Serve as the district-level specialist and primary resource for Infinite Campus.
- Verify completion of required submissions and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Monitor systems to identify students or staff who may be missing or have incorrect access.
- Support enrollment, withdrawal, transfer, and student record processes throughout the year.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist district and building personnel with Infinite Campus questions and data needs.
- Prepare, review, validate, and submit required data within established timelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of student, staff, and district information.
- Create and maintain district email distribution groups based on current staff assignments, buildings, departments, and roles.
- Maintain organized procedures and records for recurring responsibilities and important processes.
- Troubleshoot access and rostering concerns and work with technology staff or vendors when additional support is needed.

Additional Duties:
- Participate in training and seek support as state systems and reporting requirements change.
- Serve as a helpful resource to administrators, secretaries, counselors, teachers, and other staff, working with appropriate district and building personnel to identify and correct data discrepancies.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

- Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress.
- Requires the ability to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computer and peripherals and other instructional equipment for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires the ability to frequently use repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and mouse use.
- Requires the ability to frequently kneel/squat, bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, or reach.
- Requires the ability to frequently lift and carry items 25 lbs.
- Requires the ability to work and concentrate in noisy and crowded environments.
- Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Requires timeliness and regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
- Works in standard office and school building environments.
Equipment:
- Uses standard school equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements:
- Travels to other district buildings and communities/districts for professional meetings/trainings as required.
Position Details:
- Considered full-time with the district.
- KPERS covered position.
- Eligible for district benefits including sick leave, personal and vacation leave 250 working days which include 13 paid holidays 8 hour per day.
- Starting pay $16.50/hour but may be adjusted based on experience.
- FLSA Status: Exempt.
- Direct Supervisor: Curriculum Director.
