Clinical Staff Pharmacist

Pharmacy TechnicianStatus: Part-time: (40 hours per pay period) Department: MVHS INFUSION CNTR PHARM Facility: Miami Valley Hospital SouthUnder the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures; compounds and dispenses medications and provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders; performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs; responsible for medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral; active participant in codes; supervises interns and technicians in all work areas assigned; participates in training pharmacy students and technicians; participates in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degreeType of degree: B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is requiredArea of study or major: PharmacyPreferred educational qualifications: PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacyPosition specific testing requirement: N/ALicensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure as a registered pharmacist by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility to become licensed within 60 days of employment start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start dateExperience: No prior job-related work experiencePreferred experience: Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.Other experience requirements: Retail experience – greater than 5 years discouraged; greater than 10 years disqualifies candidateKnowledge/SkillsPossess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skillsAbility to read and write printed material in EnglishAbility to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counselingAbility to work well with other health care workers and perform as a teamProficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoodsMust be customer-service orientedProficiency with computer keyboard operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferredAbility to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy softwareFlexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
