Summary: Monitor reception areas, greet patients, update chart information, and effectively initiate patient visits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Open office daily and provide an adequate reception area environment for all patients.
- Update patient’s demographic and insurance information at each visit.
- Communicate and interact effectively with patients and families, physicians, and peers to maximize successful patient outcomes.
- Answer telephone calls courteously and direct calls appropriately.
- Monitor the Schedule for workflow and patient wait times.
- Create new charts and encounters through electronic registration.
- Obtain proper patient identification and pictures, including any custody/guarantor documents.
- Register each patient to create encounters electronically while obtaining and inputting correct patient information.
- Collect co-pays and receive cash and check payments.
- Verify Insurance Coverage and Information for each patient.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Check EHR tasks and handle requests and jobs assigned therein efficiently
- Close Clinic as assigned.
- Cover the patient check out and scheduling position for breaks, lunch, and other absences.
- Provide spiritual care for the patients.
- Perform all aspects of the sliding fee process.
- Perform encounter audits.
- Be proficient in PM and EHR software.

- Team members must demonstrate skill and knowledge related to effective communication with vulnerable patient populations.
- Team members must participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities within the organization to ensure patients receive high-quality care.
- All team members will be involved in the process of improving quality incomes.
- Team members will participate in the review and evaluation processes of practice performance and help to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Team members will participate in Grace Health's advocacy program.
- Follow policies and procedures of the office, including administrative, clinical, quality assurance, and personnel.
- Maintain good attendance (daily meetings and other assignment tasks).
- Maintain timely documentation of all work assignments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Routinely keep the supervisor informed about attendance and job assignments.
- Flexible in being able to multitask.
- Work effectively and at an efficient pace.
- Work cooperatively with physicians, administration, and peers.
- Close clinic as assigned.

High School Diploma or Equivalent
At least two (2) years Medical Office experience preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Grace Health is a faith-based, federally qualified community health center (FQHC).
