Responsibilities Performs preliminary screening for physician review including obtaining ocular and medical history, visual acuity measuring, applanation tonometry, pupil and basic motility assessment. Responsible for diagnostic testing (OCT, Optos, HVF, IOL Master). Assists with office flow. Sterilizes and sets up instruments; assists with minor office procedures. Maintains instruments used including bio‑microscopes, lensometer, tangent screen. Organizes and stocks consultation rooms and microbiology laboratory with drugs and other supplies as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant working in a clinical or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (former experience with Nextech is a plus). Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong written and verbal communication. Experience with slit lamp microscope and basic patient workups. Working knowledge of eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications. Preferred Qualifications Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
