Role Purpose The Head of Intelligence and Investigations is a Copper Group‑wide role responsible for overseeing prevention, detection, and corrective control areas, including second‑line financial crime investigations, transaction monitoring strategy and framework, anti‑bribery & corruption policies, whistleblowing, internal fraud management, and compliance with regulatory and supervisory requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead the compliance operations team (internal and external) and provide strategic oversight of AML risk detection and mitigation. Drive the anti‑bribery and corruption framework and oversee fraud control frameworks. Manage the whistleblowing hot‑line, triage reports, and escalations to the assessment panel. Oversee 2nd‑Line of Defense investigations, ensuring an effective end‑to‑end transaction monitoring process with seamless escalation and resolution of financial‑crime risks. Design, maintain, and continuously improve transaction monitoring and travel rule compliance frameworks with risk‑based, scalable approaches. Collaborate with the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, regional MLROs, and external auditors on regulatory reviews and license applications. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to develop, refine, and optimize intelligence and investigative systems for new products and regulatory initiatives. Leverage data analytics and emerging technologies to enhance detection capabilities and improve operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with global AML regulations and align intelligence and investigative policies with industry best practices. Provide subject‑matter expertise on AML risks to internal stakeholders, supporting risk assessments, audits, and regulatory engagements. Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to drive proactive compliance with evolving AML expectations. Lead and develop a high‑performing team, fostering continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation. Oversee reporting of key performance and risk metrics, presenting data to senior management. Liaise with external vendors and technology providers while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners. Skills and Experience – Essential Extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and expertise in transaction monitoring for both fiat and digital assets. Experience configuring transaction monitoring rule engines in line with Group risk interests. Direct experience conducting investigations across a range of risk and criminal typologies. Proficient knowledge of intelligence management and target hardening strategies. Knowledge of industry travel rule compliance requirements and solutions. Proven experience in compliance investigations and/or intelligence management for blockchain‑based assets and associated tooling. Experience in traditional banking, finance, or related business is an advantage. A minimum of 8 years of experience in an applicable financial services company. Ability to advise the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer and business stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues. Capability to evaluate complex financing transactions for information barriers, suitability, and cross‑border risks. Commercial awareness and decision‑making under dynamic regulatory environments. A calm professional attitude and strong team‑player skills. Skills and Experience – Desirable Experience with custody, collateral management, derivatives, and lending.
