Job Title: Safety Supervisor Job Description

The Safety Supervisor plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment on active construction sites. This position supports safety programs by conducting daily site inspections, identifying potential hazards, monitoring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards, and ensuring employees follow established safety procedures. The Safety Supervisor works closely with field personnel and project management to reinforce a strong safety culture and help prevent workplace injuries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of active construction sites to identify potential safety hazards and unsafe conditions.

• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards across all site activities.

• Reinforce established safety procedures with field employees and subcontractors through regular communication and coaching.

• Collaborate closely with field personnel and project management to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

• Support the implementation of safety programs and initiatives designed to reduce risk and prevent workplace injuries.

• Observe work practices and use of equipment to ensure adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.

• Assist in documenting safety observations, inspection findings, and corrective measures using Microsoft Office and mobile technology, as applicable.

• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote awareness of hazards and safe work practices.

• Walk jobsites, including climbing ladders and accessing various work areas, to conduct thorough safety checks in different outdoor conditions.

• Help foster a strong safety culture by serving as a visible and approachable safety resource for employees and subcontractors.

Essential Skills

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.

• Strong interest in construction safety and risk prevention.

• Ability to communicate effectively with field employees and subcontractors.

• Basic knowledge of construction processes and safety regulations.

• Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, and work in various outdoor conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Comfort using mobile technology to document safety inspections and observations.

• Construction-related education or coursework is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with field teams and project management.

• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety risks.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
