Job Description

The Cardiac Telemetry RN will work in a surgical step-down unit caring for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients. The unit typically handles patients 17-24 hours post-operative, including those who have undergone procedures such as coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and carotid endarterectomies, among others.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac surgery patients.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and manage IV fluids.
• Perform assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have strong cardiac telemetry experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar setting.
• Experience with post-cardiac and vascular surgery care is mandatory.
• Epic EMR experience required.
