Senior Field Mechanic - Heavy Civil Equipment

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Diagnose and repair/rebuild all equipment and vehicles as determined by the Equipment Manager Able to work with minimal supervision. Repair’s vehicles and equipment according to manufacturer specifications Perform routine repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles as needed and on time. Operate construction equipment and vehicles in order verify needed repairs. Experience/ability to use SIS/ET and other programs when required. Perform miscellaneous welding to repair items as needed. Strive to maintain zero repeat/rework repairs. Clean equipment and vehicles in the process of making repairs. Maintain daily logs in a legitimate, timely and organized fashion. Complete all paperwork and turn in as required daily (time sheets, ETC.) May drive company vehicle to get parts. Meet weekly for safety meeting. Ability to work off hours including weekends. Keep assigned Mechanics Truck clean and organized. Clean up after yourself and assist in keeping the shop/yard clean and organized. Seek knowledge of new technologies/methods used in truck and equipment maintenance and repairs. Recommend measures to Equipment Manager to improve safety, production, equipment performance and repair quality. Abide by company work policies and safety rules. Support and/or adheres to the company’s mission, values, philosophies, and policies. Performs additional duties as assigned, given adequate guidance and resources. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A minimum of 5years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group to other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using pressure, weight, volume, and distance measurements. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Commercial Driver's License Class “B” with Tank endorsement is preferred. AC 609 Certification. Must be able to clear a background check if necessary. Hand tools to 2 inches (wrenches and sockets) both metric and SAE Air tools to ¾ drive, Torque wrenches 3/8 and 1/2 Allen and torx bits, ETC Drill, drill bits, taps and dies metric and standard. Measuring tools to accomplish repairs. Welding PPE as required Voltmeter, test light AC Tools Tools not specifically listed to complete everyday repairs. Torch and brazing/gas welding consumables Welder and welding consumables Grinding consumables wheels, stones etc. Replacement drill bits and taps will be replaced as needed. 1 inch drive impact and sockets Laptop, software, and hardware as needed.
