This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy variety, continuous learning, and a fast-paced environment.About the Medical/Surgical UnitOur Med Surg Unit is a 25-bed department providing comprehensive care to patients from Mason County and surrounding West Michigan communities. This unit cares for a wide range of medical conditions, including:Pneumonia and respiratory illnessesCellulitis and infectious processesKidney failure and acute/chronic kidney injuryDiabetes-related conditions and hyperglycemiaUlcers and wound care needsGeriatric and confused elderly patientsAlcohol-related health concernsSepsisSelect psychiatric patientsAbout the Emergency DepartmentOur 25-bed Emergency Department features 16 state-of-the-art treatment areas, including two trauma bays, and provides rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization, and emergency interventions. Highlights include:Helicopter transport agreements with Level I and Level II trauma centersServices for minor injuries and illnessesAdvanced equipment and highly skilled emergency staffAbout the ICULudington Hospital's 6-bed ICU provides high-touch, high-quality critical care. Our clinicians and care teams deliver high-quality healthcare supported by advanced technology, patient-centered programs, and the exceptional resources of a top health system.Scope of WorkThe Float RN:Provides safe, ethical, and accountable nursing care in accordance with ANA professional standards and Michigan state regulationsDemonstrates competency using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluationUpholds professional performance standards including: communication, collaboration, culturally congruent care, leadership, evidence-based practice, and quality improvementStrives for optimal patient outcomes across all assigned unitsQualificationsRequires previous inpatient RN experienceAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) – RequiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required within 5 years of hireMichigan RN License – RequiredAHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required within 90 days of hireAHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required within 6 months of hire
