Operating Room Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse needed for the operating room. Applicants must have experience with trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic cases due to trauma status. May require covering one night shift during the contract as needed. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Weekend coverage is required. On-call duties will be distributed equally among all staff every 6 weeks, potentially amounting to 6-8 shifts during that period. The daily patient ratio consists of 10 RNs and 6 Surgical Technologists during the day. Night shift staffing typically includes 2 individuals, either 1 RN/1 Surgical Technologist or 2 RNs, one serving as scrub. The unit serves a diverse patient population across various age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 25 surgical cases. Trauma support staff is on-call as standard within the system. Professional references are required from candidates, ensuring currency and quality of experience. Candidates may need to submit to a background check as part of compliance requirements. Flexibility regarding assigned scheduling is critical, as refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Candidates should refrain from contacting facility personnel directly unless an interview is prearranged. Completions of training modules required prior to employment will be documented.
