Job Title Research Technician Department Engineering | Electrical and Computer Engineering Position Overview The lab of Emre Koksal in Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, seeks a Research Technician. The position involves building a multi‑layer energy‑optimal architecture for data centers with a joint supply and load side allocation approach, developing probabilistic methods involving Markov chains and large‑deviations theory on the supply side, and creating a power and thermal‑aware feedback GPU scheduling framework on the load side. The project will result in authorship of two research papers submitted to major conferences and/or peer‑reviewed journals. Essential Duties Effective bandwidths and large‑deviations analysis for data‑center demands; design the supply side with power management and energy store selection (50%). Data collection, cleaning, and processing (15%). Authoring papers to be submitted to major conferences and journals (35%). Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; 4 years of relevant experience required with a High School diploma or GED, 2 years with an Associate’s Degree, or 0 years with a Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred: MS Degree. Position Details Location: Dreese Laboratories (0279), Columbus, OH. Position Type: Temporary (Fixed Term). Scheduled Hours: 20 per week. Shift: First Shift.
