The Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) sonographer performs specialized diagnostic imaging scans on pregnant patients during all trimesters, focusing on high-risk pregnancies. This professional collaborates with physicians and healthcare providers to deliver high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning. Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed obstetric ultrasound scans, including NT, first trimester, biophysical profiles, and level II assessments.
- Conduct imaging for multiple pregnancies such as twins and triplets, utilizing advanced sonography techniques.
- Apply Doppler studies to evaluate umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery blood flow.
- Execute transvaginal scans with precision to obtain essential diagnostic information.
- Ensure all images meet quality standards and are accurately documented for physician review.
- Maintain compliance with all certification, licensure, and travel policies, including timely submission of documentation.
- Hold a graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Possess at least 3 years of OB ultrasound experience, with a focus on high-risk pregnancies.
- Maintain current BLS certification.
- Hold a valid CA State License and certified in applicable AHA or ARC credentials.
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced obstetric sonography techniques and specialized assessments.
- Provide valid references and up-to-date documentation of all certifications.
