General Psychiatrist

Christus Regional Behavioral Medicine in Alamogordo, New Mexico is seeking a psychiatrist to join their growing and collaborative Behavioral Health team. The role features a balanced combination of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry within an established program serving Southern New Mexico. Providers enjoy a flexible Monday through Friday schedule with no call requirements and opportunities for telehealth. Practice Info Alamogordo Team includes 4 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, 5 additional APPs joining the practice, multiple inpatient and outpatient nursing staff, 4 Medical Assistants, 12 Licensed Therapists across inpatient and outpatient settings, and dedicated front office and administrative support Inpatient Services features a 36-bed Behavioral Medicine Unit, established consult and inpatient psychiatric services, and a guaranteed inpatient census of approximately 12 patients daily Outpatient Services features a strong referral base, access to telepsychiatry services, and the opportunity to build and customize practice interests Quarterly travel to satellite clinics in Ruidoso and Las Cruces Shift & Schedule Combination of Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatry Flexible schedule with a mix of 1-3 days outpatient clinic and 2-3 days inpatient coverage Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM No Call Requirement Adult patient population (18+) Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry (preferred) Minimum of 5 years of Psychiatry experience preferred Experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric practice (preferred) Interest in helping expand behavioral health services (preferred) Ability to work collaboratively with APPs, therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams (preferred) Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a plus Interest in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) welcomed
