Earthscapes is a well-established landscape company that has been serving the Central Coast for over 35 years. We are looking to fill a part-time position in our landscape maintenance department. This position is part time to start, but could lead to a full time position and possible equity in the company for the right person. We are looking for someone who is positive, self-motivated, knowledgeable, hardworking, honest, and dependable, with good communication skills.

• Must have plant, horticulture, and irrigation knowledge. Landscape design experience is very helpful.
• Minimum 5 years of landscape maintenance experience, and supervisory experience is helpful.
• Valid drivers license and clean DMV record.
• The ability to drive a utility bed truck and tow a trailer is a plus.
• The ability to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual is a plus.

We are looking for a Landscape Maintenance Professional to work on a team or individually, providing high-quality maintenance services for our clients. As part of our quality maintenance service, we also provide landscape design services to our clients. We perform our tasks from a horticultural perspective, and we are looking for the right individual to join our team who can contribute their current knowledge and skills while learning from our knowledgeable staff. Our broad knowledge base and horticultural expertise set us apart from the average landscape maintenance service. We practice IPM (Integrated Pest Management) whenever possible and use organic pesticides and fertilizers to keep our landscapes healthy and beautiful.

• Knowledge of plant material and their proper maintenance, which includes pruning trees and shrubs, deadheading flowers, cutting back perennials, trimming hedges, grooming succulents, mowing a few lawns, and fertilizing plants as needed.
• Diagnosing disease and pest problems and offering appropriate solutions.
• Installation of new plants and irrigation for upgrades or replacements.
• Proficient use of battery-powered landscape equipment and tools, including hedge trimmers, string trimmers, chain saws, lawn mowers, and blowers.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to make minor repairs and installations. And the ability to program and operate irrigation controllers.
• The ability to keep accurate records of time and work completed.

We typically work 8-hour days, usually from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, 2 days a week (usually Thursdays and Fridays). Start and end times can be flexible.

• Competitive pay starting at $30/hour up to $40/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
• Paid time off and paid sick leave benefits are available after 90 days of employment.

This role can easily evolve into a full-time position for the right person. We are also open to offering company equity to an ideal candidate who proves their value to the company.
