Job SummaryPerforms a variety of custodial and light building maintenance duties including the cleaning of public restrooms and public areas, as well as, light facilities maintenance, including but not limited to the changing of batteries, repairing bathroom specialties, changing light bulbs, and other routine building maintenance. This position normally follows established routines and will also respond to unusual situations or matters requiring immediate attention. This position reports to the facilities supervisor.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the custodial duties of various Town facilities including public restrooms. Duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, trash removal, cleaning and restocking of bathrooms.Maintains adequate inventory of custodial supplies and submits orders as neededResponsible for the routine maintenance of Town facilities, including changing batteries in plumbing fixtures and doorknobs, changing light bulbs, painting, etc.Responsible for occasional move out cleans and post construction cleans of town owned buildingsIdentifies and implements corrective measures related to day-to-day building maintenance.Records and reports circumstances associated with needed repairs.Assists with facility maintenance functions as requiredRequired Knowledge & SkillsAbility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.Ability to use tools necessary to perform all duties associated with cleaning and light building maintenance.Ability to operate light-duty equipment. Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions.Ability to recognize and record needed repairs.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.Ability to walk for extended periods of time under varying conditions.Ability to work without close supervision in standard work situations.Ability to contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team goals, objectives and activitiesMinimum Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.Employment is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive education/experience background investigation and a criminal history record check.Working Conditions and Physical Effort While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to handle, feel, and operate equipment, and to communicate effectively. The role frequently involves standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms. It may also require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees in this role must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see clearly at close and long distances, distinguish colors, and adjust focus as needed. The work environment may involve exposure to light-duty cleaning supplies and associated odors, moving mechanical parts, and occasionally working in high or elevated areas. The typical noise level is moderate. Town offers a $900 Health Reimbursement Account that may be used for deductible above the first $600 (1 per employee). Current Network: Cigna. Life Insurance: 1x employee salary policy (Town pays 100% of premium). Long-term Disability Insurance: (60% of salary after 120 days) (Town pays 100% of premium). This provides payments to you (up to 60% of your salary) in case of a long-term disability (non-job related) which prevents you from working at your job. The Town offers a flex system plan that allows employees to pay for medical expenses (up to $3,400) and dependent care (up to $7,500) with pre-tax dollars. This is a voluntary plan. Vacation: 96 hours 1st year, 120 hours years 2nd through 5th, 168 hours after 5th through 9th, 192 hours after completing 9 years of employment. 240 max accrual first year through 5th year of employment, 280 max accrual after completing 5 years of service. Sick Leave: Accrues at 1 day (8 hours) per month up to a maximum of 960 hours. No payment for unused sick leave upon termination. Paid Holidays: 13 per year. New Year's Day/Martin Luther King Day/President's Day/Memorial Day/Juneteenth/Independence Day/Colorado Day/Labor Day/Indigenous Peoples Day/Thanksgiving/Friday after Thanksgiving/Christmas Day/Floating day at Christmas. Compensatory Time Off (Comp Time): In lieu of overtime pay, the Town allows non-exempt employees to accumulate Comp Time to be taken at a later date. Comp time is accrued at the rate of 1 ½ times for each hour of overtime worked. A maximum of 80 hours of Comp Time may be accumulated, after which the overtime worked will be paid out at overtime rates. Volunteer Time Off: Employees may take up to 8 hours of paid time off each payroll year to participate in a volunteer program for a local government 501(c)(3) non-profit of their choice.
