Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery preferred License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: - Experience in acute care high-risk labor and delivery - Knowledge of Antepartum, Pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC - Skills in active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies - Familiarity with patient ratios of 1:2 in labor and 1:3 in antepartum Description: The role of the Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery involves providing high-quality care to patients. The position requires floating between units as necessary. Weekend shifts are required, but on-call duties are not. The expected patient ratios include 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for antepartum care. Candidates should be comfortable managing high-risk deliveries and emergencies. Experience with triaging obstetrical patients and utilizing intrauterine pressure catheters is essential. The unit supports various interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response. Candidates will be expected to assist with C-sections and recover patients post-surgery. Monitoring and managing different therapies, including insulin drips and antihypertensives, is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and adherence to the contracted schedule. References from recent work experience will be required as part of the hiring process.
