Pharmacy Technician

Duties
Help
Fill prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs.
Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with pharmacy standing operating procedures.
Maintain pharmacy records, files, and administrative reports on drugs, adverse reactions, patient allergies, errors, inventory, transactions, and provider/patient files.
Communicate with patients on proper use of medication and to obtain medication history.
Advise prescriber or pharmacist on issues or problems with dosing, interactions, side effects, or instructions.
Operate pharmacy equipment to fill and label prescriptions.
Conduct maintenance on pharmacy equipment to avoid malfunctions.
Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and other supplies utilizing appropriate stock storage, conditions, and procedures.
