Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a passion for providing comprehensive care to obstetric patients, ensuring safety and supporting families during the childbirth process.

Details:

• Location: Anchorage, AK
• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Shifts:
  • Night Shift: 3x12 Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Day Shift: 3x12 Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other Weekend
• Orientation Hours: 36

Requirements:

• Must have an active Alaska RN license in hand for automatic offer.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in Labor and Delivery.
• Certifications required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • NRP
• Charge experience is preferred, or a willingness to train as a charge nurse.

Professional Skills:

• Labor and Delivery Management
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries
• Circumcision assistance and newborn care
• Neonatal resuscitation and thermoregulation
• Assessments and support for postpartum care
• Fetal monitoring using external and internal methods
• Medication administration, including magnesium sulfate therapy and Pitocin
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams

Unit Information:

The Labor and Delivery unit handles a variety of obstetric cases, including high-risk pregnancies. The average daily deliveries range from 7 to 14, supplemented by an influx of triage patients. This high-volume unit consists of:

• 10 OB Triage Rooms
• 10 LDR Rooms
• 3 Operating Room Suites
• 4 PACU Rooms
