Credit and Collections Associate
Payrate: $15.29/hour
Location: Centerville, IA
Type: Contingent Labor
Hours: 40/week

Join our Collections Team as a Credit and  Collections Associate and play a key role supporting our customers, community partners, and financial operations. What You’ll Do:

• Make outgoing and handle incoming collections-related calls to customers, agencies, and collection partners.
• Process paperwork and follow up on bankruptcy claims and probate cases.
• Assist community agencies with customer account inquiries and our Energy Assistance Center self-service application.
• Handle non-utility accounts, process payments, set up payment arrangements, and update account notes.
• Support collection agencies with disputes, recalls, balance queries, and commission payments.
• Ensure all collection actions, notifications, and deposit-related activities are documented and processed.

Your Impact:

• Maintain excellent rapport with community agency staff.
• Provide critical support to customers facing financial hardship.
• Collaborate with the legal department and various internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Need:

• Education: Associate degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in collections, finance, or customer service.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of collections processes, strong communication skills, proficient in CIS systems, and detail-oriented paperwork processing.
