Develop and execute strategies consistent with corporate direction to drive business. Manage and is accountable for the effective operation of the region's centers including staffing, training, policy and procedure adherence, compliance, optometric relations, and patient/customer experience. Build a strong team with a succession plan for growth and development.Duties and Responsibilities:Drive Business & Deliver ResultsWork individually and cross functionally to develop and execute merchandise, operational, and customer service strategies to deliver planned sales, gross margin and EBITDA resultsExecute quality center visits to validate patient/customer service standards are consistently deliveredObserve and review individual optician performance during visits and provide appropriate feedback and coachingEstablish and monitor center operations guidelines (i.e., appointment monitoring, daily system balancing, government, and state regulations)Ensure operational exceptions are addressed and resolvedFacilitate ongoing process improvementStay up to date on competition within the regionLeadershipOversee onboarding for new General Managers and Optometrists; ensure training and onboarding is completed effectively for all teammatesProvide realistic parameters that allow teams to make decisions with accountabilityIs accessible to teams and the rest of the organizationProvide proactive communication to centers and corporate partnersResolve customer concerns promptly and positivelyWork closely with Human Resources to develop and implement solutions related to staffing, recruiting, performance management, and employee relationsOversee General Manager in Training program to develop bench strength within the regionRegularly evaluate optometrist, manager, and optician talent for current and future bench strengthFinancial AcumenOversee financial operations of region by driving sales and managing expenses to planIdentify exceptions and put appropriate action plans in place for resolutionAssist in accurate budget submissionComplianceEnsure centers follow applicable Federal and State laws including HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, and Federally and State funded vision plan regulationsEnsure all applicable Optometric and Optician laws are followedEnsure centers adhere to all company safety standards, policies, and proceduresMinimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:Bachelor's degree in relevant business field or equivalent work experience5+ years of multi-unit retail management experienceOptical Manager leadership experience preferredProven ability to lead, coach, and build teammate relationships in an environment of fast change; must be able to direct, and motivate a diverse teammate populationStrong planning, analysis, and organizational skillsAble to work collaboratively in a matrix environmentStrong problem-solving skills to identify problems and develop solutionsStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsStrong multi-tasking skillsAble to thrive within a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programsEssential Functions & Work Requirements:Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communicationAble to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAble to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)Able to read and write at a high school graduate levelAble to lift 10 to 20 poundsAble to view/read computer screen for extended periods of timeAble to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlinesAble to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal developmentThese statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by teammates assigned to this job classification.
