Warehouse Lead (3044)

Location: Munster, IN 46321 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 hourly Shift: 1st Category: Warehouse Position Summary The Warehouse Crew Lead ensures outbound and inbound shipments are accurate and free from damage, including inventory. The role manages the team to perform responsibilities set forth. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe work environment through facility and personnel audits and enforcing safety guidelines. Assign daily tasks to warehouse department employees. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations and ensure all employees are trained and follow these procedures. Monitor code dates of orders picked for outbound shipments, ensuring OAD is used. Receive all drivers entering the facility, provide directions, and complete necessary paperwork/system logs upon arrival. Ensure outbound and inbound shipments are accurate and free from damage; process all paperwork and system documentation (BOLs, loading/order documents, driver logs). Operate daily within GMP and QA Food Safety guidelines. Fill in for supervisions as needed; flexible with schedule to cover 2nd or 3rd shifts as required. Perform floor functions as needed to support the department during short staffing. Maintain non‑inventory items (e.g., Cheps, whiteboards, gloves, copy paper) to prevent operational disruptions. Complete forklift maintenance reporting and records to ensure maximum safety. Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas. Other responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge & Experience Legally authorized to work in the United States. High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple tasks with rapidly changing priorities. Team player with productive, effective work habits. Basic computer skills. 1–3 years’ experience in a related field. Strong forklift skills emphasizing safety. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer programs; ERP experience is a plus. English literacy (read, write, speak). Working Conditions Work at temperatures of 34°F or less. Stand more than 10 hours per day. Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Distribution center environment requiring walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs unassisted; bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders. Work area may be slippery or contain uneven surfaces, including elevated spaces. Environmental conditions vary (hot, cold, humid). Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes.
