Job Title: Youth Connect Support Staff Department: Youth DevelopmentReports to: Director of Youth Development Effective Date:Schedule:June 29 - July 2 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm: Staff DevelopmentJuly 6 - August 20- Monday through Thursday -5:30pm - 9:15pm: Program ImplementationJob Summary: “YouthConnect Worcester Summer Program provides neighborhood-based recreational, educational and cultural activities to isolated and underserved Worcester middle school age youth in an effort to reduce youth violence. YouthConnect provides environments that reflect our participants, respect and celebrate our differences and embraces the richness of our diversity.”Under the leadership of the designated YouthConnect Worcester Summer Program Leader and Assistant, part-time program support staff will assist in the implementation of the YouthConnect registration process, assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of all YouthConnect Worcester activities including, but not limited to the following: outreach, recruitment, and retention of Worcester’s middle school-aged youth; community service; and evening activities in recreational facilities including program transportation, building access, and monitoring of program supplies. Candidate must be a supportive, willing, positive, and energetic participant in the implementation of the outcome measurement system.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Duties/Responsibilities:Participate in training opportunities.Assist with designing outreach efforts and evening recreational and educational activities.Implementation of evening recreational and educational activities.Implement the YouthConnect Worcester registration process to include monitoring the completion of registration forms and daily attendance.Assist with monitoring supplies.Create a safe environment for all YouthConnect participants and staff.Participate in a comprehensive evaluation process.Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.Other duties as assigned by the YouthConnect Seasonal Program Director, designated Program Leader, or Assistant Leader for the successful completion of program.Required Skills/Abilities:Bilingual preferred.Knowledge of American Sign Language helpful not required.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:Experience working with youth from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds.High School diploma required.Some college preferred, ideally in the areas of Child Development, Human Services, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, or another related field.Must be deemed eligible according to state and or federal criteria for Summer Employment.Preference will be given to applicants that can show participation in: Youth Worker Training Institute, Worcester Youth Work Alliance, First Aid & CPR, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Narcan Administration.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standingMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Expected hours: 25 per weekWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Ywca Central Massachusetts Inc
