Lead Preschool Teacher

We are seeking multiple experienced, energetic Lead Preschool Teachers for our Head Start Classrooms at our Chisholm Early Learning Center. This position is 40 hours and 38 weeks per year and up to 50 as needed.

Starting Pay Range: $20.76-$22.51/hour depending on education and experience. This position is currently eligible for an additional monthly wage supplement through the State of Maine Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement Program. Essential Duties:

• Lead a high-quality preschool classroom team
• Planning activities and tailoring curriculum to meet children's social, emotional, physical, literacy, and cognitive development
• Communicating with and supporting families in meet their children's and families' needs
• Work with management to maintain Head Start Performance Standards and Licensing requirements

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education required or a closely related field required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience is preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in early care and education is preferred

Other Requirements: Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others; ability to function autonomously and as part of a team; considerable stamina to regularly lift, bend, carry, and perform other high-energy activities; competency with Microsoft Office; ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Pre-employment physical, SBI, DMV, Maine Sex Offender Registry, DHHS fingerprinting, fraud, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment; valid driver's license and travel within the service area is required.
