Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future sponsorship.How You Will Make An ImpactAs a Web Developer on our Yearbook Technology team, you will play a critical role in driving the stability, performance, and reliability of our flagship SaaS platform. You'll partner closely with Customer Support, Product, and Engineering to triage escalations, perform deep root cause analysis, and deliver high-quality fixes that minimize disruption and enhance the customer experience.You will also help strengthen the Yearbook platform over time by improving observability, reducing technical debt, and optimizing system performance at scale. Through mentorship, code reviews, and continuous process improvements, you'll elevate engineering standards while ensuring our systems remain resilient, scalable, and built to support our customers' success.What You Will DoEnsure the stability, performance, and reliability of our applications' backend services through production support, maintenance, and continuous improvement using Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.)Own investigation and resolution of complex production issues impacting customersDebug and resolve backend issues across Java services, APIs, and databasesDeliver high-quality fixes via maintenance and patch releasesCollaborate with customer support to triage, reproduce, and resolve escalated ticketsImprove application observability using logging, monitoring, and metricsReduce technical debt and improve system stability and performanceReview code and mentor less-experienced engineersImprove tooling, documentation, and operational processesQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 2-5 years of professional software development experienceStrong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud)Deep understanding of RESTful API principlesFamiliarity with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS)Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipeline)Strong understanding of database design and SQL/NoSQL technologiesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamExperience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and tools, including the Atlassian suitePreferredExperience with performance tuning and optimizationExperience with front-end development technologies, including AngularPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
