Job Description

The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting mechanical installations throughout construction to verify compliance with engineering drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. This role supports successful mechanical completion, commissioning, and project turnover.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical equipment installations.
Verify installation quality and workmanship.
Review pressure testing and flushing documentation.
Witness mechanical equipment startup and testing.
Verify equipment alignment and anchorage.
Review contractor quality documentation.
Identify deficiencies and monitor corrective actions.
Conduct punch list inspections.
Support commissioning and mechanical completion activities.
Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
Coordinate inspections with contractors and project management.
Ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or equivalent field experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting mechanical construction.
Knowledge of HVAC and piping systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Data center or mission-critical construction experience.
Mechanical QA/QC certification.
